Kids in Scuba School (K.I.S.S.)

This scuba program provides a structured development program that is designed to benefit teenagers during those critical years when teamwork skills can strengthen and build character. By offering alternatives to traditional opportunities kids can earn there PADI Open Water certificate and build academic responsibility and explore the undersea world where they can expend their energy and discover new educational and career goals.

The Scuba certifications through this program are courses designed by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). PADI is the world’s largest recreational diving organization. The PADI system of diver education is based upon progressive training that introduces skills, safety related information and local environmental knowledge in steps ranging from entry level through Scuba Instructor. All PADI programs fall under strict educational standards to maintain worldwide consistency and quality

Learning to dive leads to developing life skills such as:

• Academic achievement
• Self- control, attendance and reliability
• Leadership and being part of a team
• Health, fitness and decision making

Although the program starts as an academic classroom, participants are held to higher standards than traditional schools, demanding high energy levels with firm expectations that are required to sustain their involvement. The participant’s inner commitment and self motivation as well as parent/guardian’s support is necessary to chart their new course to a positive life strategy. The participant’s physical endurance level and personal energy limit will be stretched and tested during this unique program.
