Discover Scuba
Sometimes it is hard to know if you’re going to like something until you try it, like asparagus.
The same is true with scuba. So often people will sign up for a discover scuba class which lets you basically try diving in the pool without having to spend a lot of money or time. This choice is really popular with kids who are not sure if they want to do it or merely as just something fun to do on a weekend. MOM I’m Bored Syndrome. We offer this class on the same weekend as the open water pool session and you can view the scedule here.
What are the requirements to be able scuba?
You need to be able to swim at the most basic level, be at least ten years old, reasonable health and have a willingness to laugh.
What will you do?
The discover scuba program is a snorkeling and scuba diving activity designed especially for adventurers, 10 year olds and up. It is an introduction to the thrill of breathing underwater and allows you to confidently explore the wonders of the underwater world in the safe, supervised conditions of a confined environment. In this controlled, shallow, swimming pool environment our expertly trained, certified instructors will guide you through all of the basic skills of snorkeling and scuba diving utilizing pool games and lots of fun underwater activities.
What’s included in the course and the cost?
The program includes all the equipment for scuba diving. You’ll need a swimsuit and towel for the pool. If you get cold easy, you’ll want to bring a wet suit, t-shirt, or sweatshirt for the pool. At the completion of the program each diver will receive a wall certificate. In addition, we teach all of our diver level courses in small groups to ensure that you receive the attention that you deserve. All our courses are taught to PADI Standards. The discover scuba program is $25.00. If your group has it’s own pool, the cost is $19.00.
