Cozumel – October 18-25, 2014

Travel with MadisonScuba to one of the most affordable and best Caribbean locations – the island of Cozumel – on October 18-25, 2014 led by our head instructor, JoAnn Hoffman.

scuba diving madison lessonsWe will be flying out of Madison for convenience and staying at Scuba Club Cozumel for hassle-free diving. www.scubaclubcozumel.com. Scuba Club Cozumel is located right on the beach, with easy access to the dive boats and also swinging hammocks where you can watch the spectacular sunsets.

For the wreck lovers, JoAnn plans on at least one additional afternoon dive to the Felipe Xicotencatl, a former US Navy minesweeper and then Mexican gun boat sunk in 1999 in 82’ of water. It was originally built in 1944. She is 184’ long, 33’ wide, and 40’ high. Night and twilight/night dives are also available.

scuba dive lessons certificationWith the October special, each diver pays $920 pp/double occupancy. Rates for single and triple occupancy are available. This price includes 7 nights’ accommodations including all taxes, 3 meals daily, 5 days of 2-tank morning boat dives with tanks and weights, and unlimited shore diving. A nondiver in the same room with a diver pays $495. The dive package includes free use of gear lockers and rinsing facilities. You are encouraged to bring along your own lock. Nitrox is available for $10/tank.

Air tickets are $675** per person. **That price is subject to change if the taxes and/or fuel surcharge change before ticketing, which is 30 days prior to departure.**

That makes the total cost per person/double occupancy is $1,595**.

Prices do not include gratuities, equipment rental, Nitrox, additional land/water excursions, additional boat dives, airline baggage fees, marine park fee, departure tax, van from/to airport, or car rental.

Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. In the event of a hurricane, this insurance will cover your costs if the trip has to be cancelled because of a storm or even in the event of losing days of diving due to high winds/waves and the port is closed. Group trip insurance is available for $110 per person if you don’t already have your own.

Rental dive gear is available from the Scuba Cozumel dive shop, bring your own, or rent from MadisonScuba, at our special weekly rate. If you rent from us, you will know exactly what you will be getting and that it fits.

Downtown San Miguel is within walking distance (15 minutes), so no rental car is required. We will take a van from the airport to the resort – cost will be approx. $10 per person each way.

We are currently holding 14 plane tickets. This is first come, first served. MadisonScuba will not subject you to being a part of a huge group of travelers. We take smaller groups on our dive trips, to make the trip more personable and to give people the opportunity to get to know each other.

You will have an instructor along with you. So, let JoAnn know if you want to earn your Boat, Deep Dive, and/or Waves, Tides & Currents Specialties. We can complete the classroom portion(s) before we leave and she will sign off on your two dives in Cozumel.

scuba diving madison lessonsDrift diving in Cozumel is about as easy as scuba diving gets. Simply jump into the clear, aqua blue water, see the wonderful fish and colorful corals, surface, and get picked up by the boat.
