Lake Superior, Munising wrecks
Date(s) - 20 Aug 2016 until 21 Aug 2016
12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
MadisonScuba Dive Shop
Join Brian as MadisonScuba travels to the small community of Munising, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula on Lake Superior where mining, lumbering and fishing were the primary industries since the early 1800’s. Fishing for Lake Trout and Whitefish is still a significant industry but tourism is the lifeblood of this area today.
Dives are Saturday August 20 at 1 PM Eastern Daylight Time and Sunday August 21 at 9 am Eastern Daylight Time.
How much does it cost?
The total fee for the Saturday and Sunday dives is $245. We book the boat for both days as a package.
Special event pricing for MadisonScuba rental gear – $35/day is available for as much gear as you need – is available from the shop. However this trip is the same weekend as Open Water Training dives for August so gear may be limited.
Hotels and Transportation
Within Munising there are several options of hotels in the “Mom and Pop” local type and the National Chain hotels. The “Mom and Pop” book quickly and range $90-$125/night. The National Chains have more amenities and are $125-$200/night and book up quickly also. Complicating things this year is the 50th anniversary of the Pictured Rocks National Park. So book early.
Car pooling for the drive up (about 6 hours plus or minus the time change) is possible. Driving up on Friday is the best idea but driving up on Saturday can be done.
Bookings are closed for this event.
