CPR and First Aid: Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care

First Aid and CPR skills building course that is a requirement for the PADI Rescue Diver Course. Of course, they are skills that you hope you never have to use but when the need arises you are able to respond to the situation.

Who can take this course?

This course is open to anyone. You do not need to be a certified diver to take this course. Your only prerequisite is to care about other people and want to be able to assist them in a medical emergency.

What materials do I need?

Course materials should be reviewed independently prior to the class. During the class time, your instructor will review the written materials, demonstrate the skills used in EFR and have you practice those skills to build confidence in your ability to provide basic emergency care. Course books should be picked up at the shop when you pay for the course.

What you will learn?

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use
  • Preventing and caring for shock
  • Spinal injury management
  • Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
  • Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations
