Advanced Open Water Diver

Welcome to your next dive adventure. Advanced Open Water Diver gives you the skills, confidence and abilities to go beyond your present certifications.

In our Advanced Open Water (AOW) course weekend you will learn about and participate in

  • Deep dive
  • Underwater Navigator dive
  • Night Dive
  • Search and Recovery dive
  • Underwater Naturalist dive

    • Who can take this course?

    To take this course, you must be:

  • Divers with PADI Open Water (or qualifying certification from another training organization
  • 15 years old (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)

    • Where do we learn

    Lake Wazee is a former open pit taconite mine with a max depth of 385 feet (you won’t go that a deep) and an abundance of different structures including an underwater forest, walls, fish cribs, dive platforms and even a sunken boat.

    You can camp with us at the campground at the lake or stay at a nearby motel.

    Join us for a weekend of fun, campfires and diving while coming away with your AOW certification.

    Course materials and gear

    Come out to the shop to pay for the course, get your course materials and reserve your gear for this certification. All rental gear, including 2 air tanks, associated with this course is included in the course fee. You will have to fill your tanks at least once at a local shop near Lake Wazee on Saturday afternoon.
